Department of Justice Blocks AT&T and T-Mobile Merger

The Department of Justice blocked a proposed merger of telecom giant AT&T with T Mobile today. Deputy Attorney General James Cole said at a press conference that the merger “would result in tens of millions of consumers all across the United States facing higher prices, fewer choices and lower quality products for their mobile wireless services.” KBOO’s Ben Renner spoke with Aaron Craig, the President and CEO of Free Press, a national media reform organization, who applauded the ruling by the Department of justice.
