Oregon Postal Worker Talks About Possible Shutdown

U.S. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe claims that the postal service is on the brink of Default. A mandated five and a half billion dollar payment to the U.S. Treasury will cause the Post Office to DEFAULT on that payment, unless Congress takes action by September 30th. If it defaults, the Post Office could run out of cash to pay salaries and contractors in a year.

KBOO’s Bill Zimmerman of Labor Radio spoke with Willie Grausheau with the US postal Service at yesterday’s Labor Day picnic in Portland.
