The General Electric Nuclear Plant in Fukushima is Still a Threat

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden recently returned from a tour of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan and has called for swift international action to prevent further radioactive fallout.

The present danger comes from a storage tank which is leaning precariously and would likely topple if hit with another earthquake.

This would cause in a high-level radioactive waste fire that would dwarf the scale of the original disaster and make huge tracts of Japan uninhabitable.

For more, KBOO’s Joe Meyer spoke with Kevin Kamps, radioactive waste specialist at Beyond Nuclear.
