Donald Trump made a consequential promise this morning at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, in between attacking Arnold Schwartzenegger’s ratings on “The Apprentice” and vowing to fix “things.”
He promised that he would “totally destroy” the Johnson Amendment, an Eisenhower-era addition to the tax code that forbids religious and charitable organizations from making political contributions or endorsements.
For more on what this means for the country, KBOO reporter Sam Bouman spoke to Emily Peterson-Cassin, the project director for the Bright Lines Project at the DC-based watchdog group Public Citizen.
