The Oregon legislature has made a clear decision about how they feel towards collection actions that single out kids when their parents don’t pay lunch bills or whose accounts lapse. In Salem The Oregon House of Representatives has unanimously passed a bill to prohibit school practices that single out students whose lunch accounts lapse. Essentially making it illegal to “lunch shame”.
