Last April, eighteen low-income students from six Portland high schools began an eight-month journey that brought them across the globe to gain a global perspective on community leadership and social justice. After three months in Portland meeting with inspiring local leaders and participating in classroom trainings, field trips, service projects and team-building activities, the students boarded planes to either Thailand or Ecuador. They traveled far off the beaten path to learn about grassroots leadership and successful models of community organizing, and returned home to speak to hundreds of people at local high schools, community organizations, City Council and on radio shows.

The Final Celebration marks the end of the students eight-month journey by giving them the opportunity to use their leadership skills and share what they have experienced with the broader Portland community. The Pangaea staff, students, board of directors and volunteers warmly invite you to a special night of education, inspiration and celebration.
