PORTLAND WATER BUREAU VARIANCE REQUEST

The Portland City Council today approved a measure that may allow the city of Portland to maintain its open water reservoirs for another twenty five years.

The measure follows the lead of the city of New York, which, like Portland, has a pristine water source and open reservoirs.

Kent Crayford with the Portland Water Users coalition spoke with KBOO as he headed into City Hall to testify on the issue.
