Public Citizen Files Brief Regarding US FEC Lawsuit
Efforts to curb the influence of money in politics jumped through the latest legal hoop Wednesday when Public Citizen filed its latest brief with the court regarding the Federal Election Commission’s failure to investigate Crossroads GPS.
According to data at the Center for Responsive Politics, outside spending on elections has increased from 38 million dollars to 270 million since the 2012 cycle, due in large part to organizations like Crossroads.
KBOO reporter Robin Ryan spoke with attorney Scott Nelson about the latest developments in the case; in addition to the role the FEC has played in how long the matter is taking to get resolved.
